Motion – Withdrawal of the GNSO as a Chartering Organization for the Cross Community Working Group to discuss Internet governance (CWG-IG) issues affecting ICANN
Dear Councilors, Attached is a motion for the GNSO to withdraw as a Chartering Organization for the Cross Community Working Group to discuss Internet governance (CWG-IG) issues affecting ICANN for our November 7 Council meeting. Best, Darcy __________ Darcy Southwell | Compliance Officer M: +1 503-453-7305 │ Skype: darcy.enyeart
Thanks Darcy, as the GNSO (not the GNSO council) is one of the chartering organizations I’d like to ask staff to make the motion consistent with this fact, in particular the Wheras e. to g. and Res. a. This would imply that the potential withdrawal was appropriately discussed within the community. I suppose this being friendly amendments. As I understand the motion the approval would mean that - GNSO members could continue on their own to participate in the CWG-IG - there would be no longer a co-chair from the GNSO Best regards Wolf-Ulrich From: Darcy Southwell Sent: Thursday, October 27, 2016 5:26 AM To: council@gnso.icann.org Subject: [council] Motion – Withdrawal of the GNSO as a Chartering Organization for the Cross Community Working Group to discuss Internet governance (CWG-IG) issues affecting ICANN Dear Councilors, Attached is a motion for the GNSO to withdraw as a Chartering Organization for the Cross Community Working Group to discuss Internet governance (CWG-IG) issues affecting ICANN for our November 7 Council meeting.
