Judith, The topic DNS and ICANN covering "what an IP address is, what a domain name is, how the DNS works, what the root server system is" sounds great. To what extent would this extend beyond United States? How wide? Sivasubramanian M On Thu, Nov 11, 2021 at 2:40 AM Judith Hellerstein via CPWG <cpwg@icann.org> wrote:
HI All,
We might want to reach out to Naela and Joe and get some of the CPWG talking points into these sessions that the USTTI is doing with iCANN. Would be a great opportunity to get our points across to a much wide r audience
Best,
Judith

November 15th and November 16th
In partnership with ICANN and The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) the USTTI would like to announce two upcoming training webinars on Monday November 15th and Tuesday November 16th. Addressing separate topics the sessions will provide both Internet Policy Makers and Spectrum Managers with opportunities for training.
Monday November 15th *The DNS and ICANN: An introduction to Unique Identifiers and the ICANN Ecosystem*
This 2-hour webinar will describe the internet’s system of unique identifiers for the audience. It will cover what an IP address is, what a domain name is, how the DNS works, what the root server system is, and what kinds of security threats exist in the DNS. It will also introduce the world of ICANN policy development, and how the audience can get involved in helping shape the future of the Internet.
Tuesday November 16th *The Federal Communications Commission (FCC): RF Spectrum Monitoring & Direction Finding: The Right Tools for the Right Problem*
This course will provide students with an introduction to the various popular testing tools used for spectrum monitoring and direction finding. The training will relate specifics of common testing methods for each application and will differentiate use cases for a spectrum monitoring tool versus a direction finding/interference hunting tool. The course will also address upcoming trends in these test tools. The webinar will conclude with practical application of test tools using examples from real interference investigations.
Like previous courses, participants will have the opportunity to not only listen and digest the information from presenters, but also ask questions in the Q&A section.
All participants are required to register in advance. To do so please follow the links at the bottom of the page. When registering please put your country of origin, the default is United States of America.
