On behalf of Hadia and myself thanks to all for the kind comments. And particularly to Bastiaan not only for his positive thoughts but his keen proofreading. The first two "nits" completely reverse the meaning! I will wet the EPDP know. Alan At 03/01/2019 05:49 AM, Bastiaan Goslings wrote:
All,
I am on the verge of voting for -and approving- ALAC’s submission, and I want to express my gratitude for those responsible for drafting it. Especially Hadia and Alan.
Putting my personal preferences aside, and ignoring the fact that some people consider me to be part of a ’surveillance caucus’ ;-) , I think this contribution nicely covers ALAC’s consensus with regard to the initial report. Well done!
cheers, Bastiaan

A few nits/typo’s I noticed, just for the record as I know I am too late and they will not be incorporated:
Point 45: add ‘not’ —> ‘Without the Admin ffields, there is the potential for a registration record not having’ (etc)
Point 87: the GDPR only applies to _natural_ persons, not legal persons - see recital 14
Point 147: a bracket is missing after ‘disclosure’?
And I do not know whether it was submitted as such, but the version on the wiki page to be voted upon by the ALAC does not include answers for recommendations 13, 14 and 21.

The most significant changes are for questions 29, 30, 44, 45, 145, 147. I don't think that any of the changes will change the comfort level of those who have been active in our discussions within At-Large.
The document is largely frozen subject to final editing and will be submitted on Friday.
