Good evening: With a view to the CPWG meeting on Wednesday, I attach an updated note of my comments last week. With al view to further discussion in CPWG I suggesdt that we need additional information and answers. - First is is necessary to hear from ICANN about their point of view. I note that recently there has been no suggestion that IANA/PTI has experieenced any operational problems. - What are the IANA iPR assets that the IETF Trust currently holds? Domain names, Trade Marks and - probably most important - the software copyrights? - What are the 'risks' against which the Trust has been unable to obtain insurance? Why? - The CCG: What is its mandate? How was it appointed, by whom? Does it have the standing and resources to excercise autonomous oversight? CPWG members may have other questions.
