Hi, well 2-3 years till it starts and another 2-3 years for names to be delegated? just guessing a hand wave of 6 years is a good wide estimate for a proposal. That way when it hasn't happened in 4-5 years as many would like, the money does not get nervous. I still wonder how the whole contention resolution will work with such widely advertised intentions. Will it be able to ignore it as if nothing had been said? Will that be considered legitimate? How will that affect the timelines for those applications. While there are those who have raised the warning flag of this onrushing train for a few years now, I think we have pretty much figured everything will be fine. Like I said, I wonder. avri On 2024-06-07 00:24, Justine Chew via CPWG wrote:

Um well, the timeline suggests these fellas are looking a ways down the road. If one expects competitors and assuming the principals are sentient, whyever would this declaration now make sense? In another area of practice of some familiarity, they call this action 'creating facts on the ground with verifiable spoor markings'. Hello All, I am rather bullish on the future of AI/ML, however, I think it is prudent to be mindful of its current limitations. I recently participated in a conference where the host offered the ability to have AI summarize the presentation. The panelists for a session I was moderating opted not to use this feature because of the highly legal and regulatory nature of the session. Having looked at the AI summarizes from other sessions, I think that this was a good session. I was reminded of this fact today. While listening to the Next gTLD round zoom session, I was concurrently reading the transcription from the GAC opening session. I did a double take when I saw the GNSO was responsible for the slaughter of over 1 million Tutsi in 1994. (see below) [cid:image001.png@01DABAF0.B6E92120] I believe that ICANN Org does not generally edits its transcripts, however, I would hope that they could make an exception out of respect for those Tusti and other minority ethnic groups that lost their lives. I would not want a future LLM using this ICANN transcript to promote false and inaccurate information. As future LLM models continue to scrape the internet for as much knowledge as possible, we must never forget the old adage Garbage In Garbage Out. Best regards, Michael
Thank you Michael Palage. Your concern is well appreciated. SUGGESTION: Instead of taking a case - by - case approach, is there a ICANN Standard Disclaimer that reads something like: No automated translation / text generation / recording / abstracting is perfect nor is it intended to replace human. They are provided as a service to users and are provided "as is." No warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, is made as to the accuracy, reliability, or correctness of such services in any language. There are limitations to these automated services. For any clarifications the participation manager of the specific meeting may be contacted. Hope this is within the ICANN Remit. Gopal, I agree that a standard disclaimer would be sufficient in most cases. However, given the national tragedy which was cited multiple times in yesterday's meetings, I think this is something that needs to be proactively addressed. Hi all, " *Over the years, Blockchain.com onboarded 40 million verified users, created over 90 million crypto wallets and supported $1.2 trillion in crypto transactions*." If those data are trustable imagine the current Impact on the DNS market(Unstoppable Domains is a for-profit company)! no need to wait for the next gtld round!
