Paul, It is interesting that a lot of people in the public comments found the Frankfurt proposal too complicated and you seem to think the opposite. One of the fairly common points made in the public comments was that the Frankfurt proposal was too complex. As a result of that, one of our objectives in the CWG should be to do that as you suggest. I my view of the weekend work, we identified quite a few areas of fairly strong CWG convergence that could help us do that going forward. May I suggest we return to a simple, efficient and responsive IANA proposal... along the lines of the Frankfurt discussion(s). I also would like to suggest we make very clear to the ICG that their proposed timetable is far too optimistic and that more time will be needed by the Naming Community to develop a proposal that meets "the needs and expectation of the global customers and partners of the IANA services" Best Paul Quoting Jonathan Robinson <jrobinson@afilias.info>:
All,
Please see attached for a Chairs' Statement arising out of the weekend sessions on 10 & 11 January 2015.
Thank-you to all who contributed time and energy to the sessions.
Best wishes,
Jonathan & Lise
