Dear EURALO members, on today's EURALO call we discussed the EURALO events at the forthcoming ICANN meeting in Copenhagen (11-16 March 2017), in particular relating to outreach. It was decided to work with the Outreach and Engagement working group, the Capacity Building Working Group, as well as the Regional Vice Presidents Jean-Jacques Sahel and Michael Yakushev, as well as Adam Peake, who is helping us out with Outreach and leads the work about the Civil Society engagement at ICANN. I mentioned both the Fellowship (see below) and the NextGen program (young people/students from the local area - the European Region in our case). Please be so kind to find the announcement of the fellowship below. Should we identify the fellows from our region and engage them *before* they arrive at the ICANN meeting? Seven have attended an ICANN Meeting in the past but now will be part of the Fellowship program and fourteen are Fellowship Alumni with various levels of ICANN experience. Nine of the Alumni will take on the additional role of coaching Newcomers. These successful candidates represent all sectors of society including; civil, government, ccTLD operations, academia, facets of the business community, technical, security and end user groups. The Fellowship program seeks to create a broader and more diverse base of knowledgeable constituents with priority given to candidates currently living in underserved and underrepresented communities around the world, those who represent diversity of gender, sector, region, experience, expertise and/or have established financial need. An independent selection committee assessed the 424 Fellowship applications received for this meeting.
