Dear All: Below please find an email from Jeanette which got trapped for technical reasons. We are working to ensure that she has no further issues. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Restructuring the GNSO Date: Thu, 07 Aug 2008 18:51:21 +0100 From: Jeanette Hofmann <jeanette@wzb.eu> To: euro-discuss-bounces@atlarge-lists.icann.org Hi everyone, the minutes of the last board meetings are online now: http://www.icann.org/en/minutes/prelim-report-31jul08.htm It seems the GNSO will now adopt a new structure consisting of two "houses". Indidividual members will become part of one of the houses. It is not clear yet whether individual users will form their own constitutency or whether they join existing constituencies. The NCUC is now accepting individual members, for the time being without voting rights. The NCUC is working on a model for accommodating both individual and organizational votes. As I have been told, they do already differentiate between large and small organizations (one versus two votes I believe) and might expand this system to integratee individuals. Two questions: Would such a system acceptable also for EURALO? Do we have any opinion on the restructuring of the GNSO and the role of ALAC/RALOs in this? jeanette ------ End of Forwarded Message
