WARNING: This is not a joke, but a damn serious question. I would assume that the authorities and dignitaries at the opening ceremony will speak in the local language, even if everybody in Ireland speaks English.

It's nice to see that Google is adding support for more "minority" languages. They announced support for Irish (gaeilge) earlier today: http://technology.ie/ta-gmail-ar-fail-ngaeilge-anois-agus-cuma-mhaith-air/
