Dear Roberto, Thank you for brininging this up. You remind me we need to constantly put effort into newcomer engagement. As a recent newcomer myself, I came up with the Buddy project I would like to start piloting, and received amazing feedback from the EURALO community, as well as my mentor Glen. The idea is to build pairs of people with similar interests and backgrounds so they can learn alongside, and is based on my outtakes from the Policy Development Accelerator. Here you can see the working draft: The file is open for anyone to edit (password: EURALO). https://cryptpad.fr/doc/#/2/doc/edit/M-KiJoLaO4-DFv1-5u39vIe7/p/ To everyone, if you see any new faces whose profile can be matched with anyone who also joined recently and might want to become a buddy, please let me know so we can connect them! Frederic, would you it be possible if I could have 3 minutes at the Wednesday session to encourage participation? Thank you!! Maciek Piasecki +48 661565521

Dear Roberto,
While I'm sorry we'll miss you in Sevilla, I really what to thank you for your community engagement and your message below, highly important.
We are all part of ICANN community, so to us all to welcome them and get connected with them during events you mentioned below!
Sometimes I feel we are working much in silo's, for instance they cannot join the At-Large Welcome session, as they have another session at the same time (https://icann86.sched.com/event/2NQO4/meet-and-greet-fellowship-and-nextgeni... ann-programs). I would propose to Siranush and Adam, if you allow me, to join a few minutes the end of the Meet & Greet meeting, to welcome them.
Best regards, Frederic, EURALO Chair

Dear all,
Unfortunately, I will not be able to join ICANN86 in Sevilla, but I will attend remotely most of it.
I would like to draw your attention, in particular to - but not limited to - those of you attending in person to the sessions that involve NextGen participants. I believe that it is of the paramount importance to meet with younger generations, not just for our benefit in understanding better how newcomers view the ICANN ecosystem, but also to make them feel that this community is eager to meet them and to communicate.
In particular let me draw your attention to the following sessions: * Tuesday 9 June @ 11:45 local time - NextGen Presentations (1 of 2) - see https://icann86.sched.com/event/ba0071ace508527f2214677a1326b06e * Wednesday 10 June @ 10:00 local time - EURALO meets NextGen - see https://icann86.sched.com/event/ba775bb2becf9dd943061b12957fb733 * Wednesday 10 June @ 11:45 local time - NextGen Presentations (2 of 2) - see https://icann86.sched.com/event/0e44be94d79c12c8f155a4ac2d4525c3
The additional benefit this time is that the ICANN meeting is held in Europe, and therefore the NextGen-ers are European or living in Europe. Please see the list of NextGen@ICANN86 participants at https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/icann-announces-nextgenica nn86-participants-17-02-2026-en
Some of you have been NextGen-ers, so you can explain better than me the importance of facilitating the introduction of new people to our community. I have been always convinced that the RALO Individual Membership can be a good first step to become involved with practical work, even if later you decide that your place is in a different Supporting Organization, Constituency, or Advisory Committee.
Also, needless to say, while it is important to meet the NextGen participants during the sessions, don’t underestimate the value of having an informal chat with them at the social events!
Cheers, Roberto
