Matthias, I share your sense of frustration, but the problem is that for the NomCom job we need somebody with a lot of experience and possibly well-known in ICANN. As I said in a previous message, there are positions for which you can be supported by a team - to add a Board member is easy, a newcomer can learn on the job, but the NomCom rep cannot count on others with whom to share information or ask for advice. I have been thinking of applying myself, but the problem is that the bulk of the work comes between March and June, that is exactly when I will be under pressure for EuroDIG 2021. Selection Schedule ALAC Delegate to the NomCom from the European Region: * 16 November 2020 - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement. * 16 November – 22 November 2020 at 23:59 UTC - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 5 working days/7 days total). * 25 November 2020, 23:59 UTC - Deadline for nomination acceptances * 26 November 2020 – 18:00 UTC Calls with the candidates. * 27 November - 1 December 2020, 23:59 UTC – Online Vote by EURALO Members. * Name (or Names) are sent to the ALAC Chair. * ALAC process to elect the NomCom Member from EURALO. * Newly elected NomCom Member from EURALO shall be seated on 7 December 2020. Process for Nominations: All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate to At-Large staff<mailto:staff@atlarge.icann.org>. Will potentially involve travel to up to 4 meetings. * Ability work in a group environment, standing up for what you believe in a discussion with other "strong" people, but at the same time, must be a good listener and be willing to change your mind if someone else has a good argument.
