Draft Survey to Arabic / Chinese gTLD ROs
Dear EPDP Team, As you may recall, in discussing charter question D1b, there is general support from the team for distributing a survey to gauge potential interest in activating variant labels from eligible registry operators, whose Chinese and Arabic gTLDs under their management have allocatable variant labels. Their responses to the survey will serve as critical inputs to the team’s deliberations around the timing and mechanism by which eligible existing gTLD registry operators may be able to request activation of allocatable variant label(s). As such, leadership and staff developed a draft survey for your review: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bPPIPg5W0h10iyh4VsFAnXHtSn2qPRadisvUCsiB... Please note that ICANN GDS and Legal have reviewed the content of the draft survey and have no concerns. GDS is able to conduct such outreach and distribute the survey to the eligible ROs on behalf of the EPDP Team. In order to confirm the approach, this survey is expected to be discussed during this week’s EPDP Team meeting. Welcome your feedback and input. Best Regards, Ariel Ariel Xinyue Liang Policy Sr. Specialist Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)
Hi Ariel, thanks for the draft survey. I can't seem to add comments to the survey, so I'll just write my comment to the list (though it'd be more convenient if we could comment directly). In Q1 you write: [IF ANSWER IS NO, PROCEED TO Q5] [IF ANSWER IS DON’T KNOW / NOT SURE, PROCEED TO Q5] However, there does not seem to be a Q5 if I haven't missed it. Or is this the standard way to denote that the questionnaire ends in this case? Or maybe you wanted to put "PROCEED TO Q4" instead. After all, I think it makes sense to ask the question "What factors may affect your decision to request activating allocatable variant label(s)?" also to those people that answered "no" or "don't know" to the first question. Hello Michael, Thank you for pointing this out! It should be Q4 instead. A draft question was removed but the question number wasn't updated. Now it is fixed.
