Alan, Thank you for your suggestion. To some extent the reaction of the Team to the Zero draft will determine the structure of F2F meeting. Leadership group will start discussing it after extraordinary meeting of the Team on coming Thursday 8pm UTC. Best regards JK On Tue, Aug 27, 2019 at 3:49 PM Alan Woods <alan@donuts.email> wrote:
Dear Janis,
The CPH has been pondering the best possible time for the Strawberry Team and Goran to meet with the team, and we, of course, welcome the opportunity to have a discussion with them at the F2F.
With that in mind, we would like to suggest that the timing of this is probably key. Realistically speaking, we do believe that perhaps the most prudent slot on the agenda would be the end of the final day. This will allow us to draw a line under our main deliberations, and then focus on our discussion with the Strawberry Team. Following that, it seems fitting to end the meeting at ICANN HQ with Goran; seems to be a very natural scheduling choice.
Kind regards,
Alan

I am ok with some people having a list of questions and comparing notes about them, but I want a free-flowing discussion with Goran and the strawberries (I wince every time I use this fruity term btw)
I don't want to get into political negotiations about what question I can ask and I don't want strategic bargaining over the list.

IPC supports meeting with Goran and Strawberry Squad as suggested. We would be fine to do this over lunch if necessary. This is an important influencing factor for our work, so if a non-lunch session would be more productive, that would be our preference.
We agree to Janis' suggestion that we prepare a list of questions ahead of time, and would request a full report not necessarily limited to our proactive questions.

Dear Janis and all,
I think meeting with the Strawberry team is important to the work of the legal team, where we would be able to know if they reached legal conclusions in relation to some of the components of the UAM. In addition, it would certainly be useful to the work of the entire team as we could base our work on realistic assumptions. Discussing with ICANN's CEO different stakeholders' liabilities is also important to the group's work. To conclude I do agree to meeting with both provided of course we have the time for this.
Kindest regards Hadia

Sounds like a good idea to me. An hour or so devoted to soliciting answers to questions about ICANN’s status as a data controller would be very important contributor to our work, in my opinion. Others?

Dear EPDP Team,
In planning for our F2F meeting in Los Angeles in September, I wanted to test the idea of carving out time as part of our agenda to meet with ICANN’s CEO and/or the Strawberry Team to get an update on the status of their activities in relation to the UAM based on the TSG model. As the questions that ICANN org is preparing for DPAs are expected to also help inform the EPDP Team’s deliberations, it may be of interest to get an update on the status as well as expected timeline and sharing any question from EPDP team directed to DPAs. Similarly, there may be further questions that the EPDP Team has for ICANN’s CEO that may impact the team’s decision-making further down the line, for example, in relation to the liability ICANN org is expected or willing to take on in a potential UAM. If there is interest in such an engagement, I would like to propose that we start a google doc that allows for the collection of specific questions so we can make sure that any engagement is structured to achieve a constructive outcome.
I look forward to receiving your feedback.
