James As a former reseller... We used to deal with pretty much all the issues we encountered as best we could before escalating it to the registrar Regards Michele Mr. Michele Neylon Blacknight http://Blacknight.tel Via iPhone so excuse typos and brevity On 11 May 2013, at 15:52, "James M. And interesting to note that resellers might be resolving these issues with their own customers, rather than involving the sponsoring registrar. I don't know that we had considered that. The numbers are so low that we don’t have any formal tracking of transfer issues, and I wonder if this will even be particularly enlightening. We’ve taken part in something like 4 TDRPs ever, none in the past couple years. There is however a low level number of complaints and issues around transfers we typically deal with informally between ourselves and another registrar. This includes both gaining and losing issues. Apparently we deal with ~12 of these a year. As our model is primarily wholesale, it’s safe to assume there is going to be at least some transfer issues that are dealt with at the reseller level without reaching us, but the volume is low enough not to generate any material issues. Food for thought. Graeme _________________________ Graeme Bunton Information Specialist Tucows Inc. PH: 416 535 0123 ext 1634
