As you say, for many of us who do not have GNSO backgrounds and who could do with being "brought up to speed" with the developments between 2007 and 2012, then a webinar would be very welcome. Many thanks. Maureen On Sun, Jan 14, 2018 at 11:02 PM, Annebeth Lange <annebeth.lange@norid.no> wrote:
Hi all,
Liz, I think this is a very good idea. I am happy to work with you to find a way to bring those “new to the game” up to speed. Since we are talking about the “2007 GNSO Policy” and “2012 AGB”, which are different, it is natural to want to know the road from 2007 to 2012. What happened and why. To understand this is essential to be able to pencil out the road ahead.
At the same time, I agree that many in WT5 have been around for a long time and can contribute to understand this better.
So, if there is agreement that we skip agenda item 3 for now and try to arrange a webinar, I am all for it.
Kind regards,
Annebeth

Hello Olga
Thank you for the agenda. I wonder if it’s not more efficient to take out agenda item 3 and run it as a separate optional webinar for those who think they would like to attend? I had volunteered for the buddy program and would be happy to use that opportunity to do a different session. That means that we can move more quickly to the substantive work on the call.
Let me know if that would be helpful…there are others in the group who are able to make input into the very important work and an interactive session would be great. For example, in the context of WT5 and geographic names there are many of us who were applicants, advisors, observers in that process who can bring their knowledge of the 2012 round to bear. There are also some of us who were part of the 2000 and 2004 rounds of TLD expansion.
Happy to work with whomever to see if we can pull this together quickly with the help of the staff resources at our disposal.
Best wishes.
Liz
