Jeff – I guess there are a few issues at play
We have RSPs who were approved by ICANN in the 2012 round that are not meeting SLAs. And from the charts circulated by Steve it appears that this is not a 1 off situation. It’s more systemic. This is a problem not only in the context of sub pro but I would argue beyond with compliance and possibly other departments at ICANN.
Jim, The systemic common cause of most of the issues is DNSSEC. This is not specific to gTLDs, but an issue with the whole DNS ecosystem. But since the alternative would be to lose DNSSEC validation, a growth in DNSSEC automation tools both external and internal to DNS servers is expected to reduce those issues over time. Note that a good number of WHOIS issues in SLAM are in fact DNSSEC issues in validating whois.nic.TLD ; the first generation of that data didn't make a difference, which is now done for more recent data.
