Hello Team, I know the development of a project plan was a brief subject of discussion today and no firm decisions were made, but given some of the conversation on the call and of course Darcy’s email below, it seems that it would be helpful. Not anticipating any objections, staff will prepare a draft work plan, that should really just flow from the current Word doc version, but be in a hopefully more user friendly, visual format. Hi Darcy, Steve, Thanks for the comments. I agree that we need a better way to visualize the workplan in more accessible and easy to use format. We can also have a recurrent short agenda item in the beginning or end of our calls to check about status using that reference document. We have to live up ourselves to the requirements of better project management. @Steve please go ahead and start working on draft work plan. I would suggest to use google spreadsheet/doc in order to avoid managing versions but we can take note of changes/updates in the document itself. Hello Team, I created the project plan in…a couple systems actually, but neither is as feature rich as I would like. I was resistant to using Excel since upkeep is rather manual. Attached, please find the Gantt for the project, which will require a bit of zooming in to read properly. Hopefully this is helpful in understanding where we have some catching up to do (the items in red) and all of the things that are coming due in April (which might be cause to change dates to better ensure success). Note, there were a handful of items where there is no proposed delivery date. For the moment, I’ve just slotted them into July so that they have a home, but that can obviously change. Please let me know if you have questions, concerns, suggestions, additional elements that should be captured, etc. Best, Steve From: "rafik.dammak" <rafik.dammak@gmail.com> Date: Monday, April 1, 2019 at 3:14 PM To: Steve Chan <steve.chan@icann.org> Cc: Darcy Southwell <darcy.southwell@endurance.com>, "gnso-pdp3dot0-dt@icann.org" <gnso-pdp3dot0-dt@icann.org> Subject: [Ext] Re: [GNSO-PDP3Dot0-DT] Suggestion for how we work Hi Darcy, Steve, Thanks for the comments. Hi Darcy, all, I’ll have to check to see if that’s possible – clicking around in the settings, I don’t see anything that allows me to do so. However, for the time being at least, what might be useful is the Excel export from the system. Hopefully you find this helpful in the interim. All, I might as well take the opportunity to provide a bit more detail and context about how I built the project plan, as well as how to view the Gantt chart. I have not built dependencies into the project since as far as I understand, dependencies have not been defined by the team. As such, there is no critical path. In the Gantt chart I attached, the status of tasks are color-coded. Items that are already complete are green, those that are red are behind, and those that are grey are still on target. You can see ballpark figures on completion percentage as well. You can get all of that information and more, minus the visual depiction, in the Excel doc I have just attached.
