I interpret the arrows with "DN" as "down" so the room do have areas of different height like terraces, which makes it better than in many other cases. But your points are noted. Patrik On 6 sep 2014, at 12:59, Paul Wilson <pwilson@apnic.net> wrote:
What’s the room layout patrick? is this a single flat space or is it some kind of auditorium?
I tend to prefer chairs on the floor not the stage, and this has worked well in large ICANN meetings before even in a large flat room space.
If stage is used, I strongly prefer not to have any tables to hide behind.
thanks
Paul.

All,
FYI, the discussion with ICANN on how to deal with logistics for the open meeting in LA is proceeding. I just got the first ideas of floor plans possible. ICANN board and us are two specific groups using this room.
My feedback on these is that I think both of these layouts are possible, at least in theory. Exactly whether 30 chairs are possible to have beside each other, or whether they should be two rows, for example on the stage is unknown.
But the goal to get all ICG participants "on stage" should be possible as it seems.
