I think this is indeed a good overview of IANA, with very nice graphics ;-) For more details, see SAC-067 and SAC-068. The only thing in the slide I think should be changed is that it talking about "country" when talking about change requests for ccTLDs. I.e. as we all know the word "country" is kind of sensitive (to say the least) the process is of course more complicated and sensitive than what is laid out on these slides. I do say this as I think ICG members should be aware of the fact that it is those details that might make it complicated and hard for some communities to discuss these topics. Glad you like the graphics. We thought they helped to demonstrate the ideas more simply. I am not sure what you mean by more complicated and sensitive. The process steps are not sensitive at all, and if you are referring to the confidentiality of the communications from the TLD operators to the IANA department regarding their requests, that confidentiality is openly acknowledged. It is extremely sensitive to walk close to the discussion on what you mean by "Country" when discussing some ccTLDs like AX, TW, EU, PS and more. The term "territory" is more normally used as a layman term and more formally the terminology "distinct economy" is used, or even (as gac) "national government or distinct economy as recognized in international fora". That is also what ISO 3166 use which also is similar to what UN Statistics Division is using. A better term because IANA should have the freedom, until Policy say otherwise, to use whatever process they want to ensure "the community" has consensus regarding the change that is pending. The discussion about what is a country is something we do not need here. It is too sensitive. Patrik
