Omar: I voted for the ALAC Statement to prioritize IDN rollout for cause. While I'm not sure of the context for your grouse, I beg you consider these facts: - The fastest growing segment of Internet users is in the Asia Pacific region - The greatest opportunity for connecting the next billion resides in the Asia Pacific geographic region - Most of the prospective users are literate in non-ASCII and non-latinized scripts - Most of them are Chinese and Indians, Indonesians, Citizens of the 'stans', Arabs and Malays. Throw in a relatively few Russians. I would wish for them to enjoy the bounties of the Internet just as I would all non-native English speakers, including Spanish or Portuguese speakers. On the balance of the evidence and even with my shameful single language capability, I would vote for more and prioritized IDNs again. Why four with non-latin caracters (IDN)?
"For a more inclusive internet"? It doesn't convince me.
