Leon, the position of ISOC Mexico is the exact opposite. If there is a second slot it should be assigned to someone outside the subregion in order to foster diversity and act against inbreeding, especially at the time in which plurality and diversity have suffered some serious threats. At the same time, such an assignment will go a long way towards increasing the dialogue between subregions, which has also been put under threat, among others most recently by Dev himself. We have made a proposal for this to be a general policy long ago, as you might remember. We continue to support Alberto's proposal, as backed also by others already. I would like to second this suggestion and support it. Best regards, León

Dear All,
The proposal under CROPP for Derisma Queslin to attend CaribNOG shows some deficiencies.
Given the goals of CROPP, Derisma Queslin has little to no experience or previous involvement in ICANN and ICANN At-Large and therefore not a qualified person to do outreach on the behalf of At-Large.
However, given that the CROPP has a residual purpose of outreach and engagement, a case could be made that Derisma Queslin from Haiti could attend with the goal of having that person become more engaged in ICANN At Large but without direct mentoring, that goal would not likely be successfully realized.
The proposal submitted by Jacqueline Morris falls directly inline with the desired goals and outcomes for CROPP. Additionally, she is likely to have a speaking slot at CaribNOG 11, thus raising the profile of ICANN At-Large at CaribNOG 11. Jacqueline could also mentor Derisma and make introductions to the attendees at CaribNOG.
Given we have available CROPP slots, the goals and outcomes of CROPP can be realized by sending both proposals. The proposal for Desirma Queslin be updated to focus on engagement and the proposal for Jacqueline Morris continues to focus on outreach and she can also mentor Derisma as described earlier.
Regards,
Dev Anand

Hi everyone I can be available for the CaribNog meeting. It luckily falls exactly in days between the UTT and UWI exam periods. Can materials etc be shipped directly to the venue? The overlap on April 20th between ARIN and CaribNog seems serendipitous as well. Sounds like a great opportunity Jacqueline
