to me, it's helpful to get a quick sense of what the message is about, but of course nowhere near what we really need, so for serious discussion and documents and statements - not so good. But better than nothing - I sometimes skip messages in Spanish if I am busy or tired, as it takes too long to puzzle through it.., even though I can read Spanish to some extent. Dear spanish speaking colleagues:
I have just forwarded to public consultation announcement to the list.Is the translation reasonably good?
For It seems to me that this interface is working sufficiently well itto be put into production uses.
If those of you who speak spanish could let U.S. know if you agree, that would be helpful.
Dear Sylvia: When you say that this system is not much better than the other' are you referring to the last translation interface? If so, remember that we often received completely blank emails on the list from that system. At least with this one, we get emails and they are translated, and at the bottom there is a link to the original text. I am not a Spanish speaker unfortunately. For me, most of the mailing list traffic on the regular list is completely unreadable. With the translations on this test list, I can understand basically what is being said. Perhaps I'm unusual but this seems to me much better than not being able to read anything at all. Rudy, what do you think? What about other english speakers who are reading the spanish translations?
