Dear Community of Users from Latin America and the Caribbean Islands
My name is Eunice Alejandra Pérez Coello, I was born and live in Mérida Yucatán Mexico, I am an Electronics Engineer and I have a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Technologies of the Information with a specialty in Information Security and a Speciality on teaching and internet governance.
Since 2004 I entered the National Technology of Mexico Mérida campus starting as an assistant in network support and I am currently a teacher and head of projects of research of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
The interest in the operation and management of data identifiers internet was as a result of the functions he performed at work, the first meeting I attended in ICANN went virtually in 2020 when it was selected as a fellow in the Center for Women in Technology program for Internet Development in the C participating in various webinars, conferences, workshops and meetings on topics DNSSEC, Internet Governance, IPv6, RPKI Internet Security among others. Today at ICANN I am a member of LACRALO Regional At-Large Organizations (RALOs) and NCUC Non-Commercial Users Constituency. I have been selected as a fellow ICANN75 Kuala Lumpur 2022 and ICANN78 Hamburg 2023 receiving the award “Tarek Kamel fellowship recognition” recognizing the outstanding scholarship contributions in promoting ICANN capacity development efforts in their respective regions, in 2023 I was in charge of the Mexico hub within the LACNOG initiative -"For a multilingual internet in the LAC region" for UADay2023 and this year we held the discussion table “Integrating Universal Acceptance into the study plans of the HEIs of Mexico”, as their own initiative integrating ANUIES National Association of Universities and ANUIES TIC through its Commission for the Collaboration in the Ecosystem and Internet Development in HEIs (CEDIIES), the Institute Tecnológico de Mérida (TecNM campus Mérida) and the Universidad Modelo
I believe that to promote the participation of end users in necessary generate awareness strategies for the education and development of capabilities that allow them to obtain and strengthen their ability to act, share opinions and make public contributions to ICANN for the benefit of our region and for this it is necessary to make proposals that provide opportunities for their participation, taking into account includes inclusion and diversity, something that I will work on if I manage to form part of ALAC Member.
