Dear ME Space community, The nomination period for the new ME Space leadership closed this morning at 00:00. 3 nominees volunteered to lead the ME Space: Layel Jabrane Abdelmonem Galila Amine Hacha Our Charter stipulates that the leadership is composed of 2 co-chairs, but last time, we accepted till 4 assuming that this will encourage those volunteers to be more involved and more committed. This year we received 3 very good candidates, and I would propose to accept them all even if Amine didn’t fulfil one of the eligibility criteria (having been at least once on the drafting team), but I believe he will be a good support for the team and will commit more during his term. Of course, we won’t need a selection committee since there are not a big number of nominees from which the committee is supposed to select. So my proposal is to accept the 3 nominees to constitute the ME Space leadership led by Abdelmonem who accumulated the experience of several years as co-chair and who was the effective chair for the last period. This is a consensus call. If during the upcoming week (till 2 December 2022 at 23:59 UTC) none objects to this proposal, Abdelmonem, Layel and Amine will be declared the new co-chairs of the ME Space for 2023 and 2024.
