Hi all, As 1/2 of your acting Secretariat for the NARALO, the below was forwarded to me for distribution. Although we are rather past the time limit with this, due to the present delays with the vote on the ALAC Liaison, we now have more time to discuss our options. I had already forwarded the website link to Jacqueline so that nobody was left out but it looks like new things have been happening. So, please circulate any input that you might have ASAP so that all views will be represented. Thank you, Darlene Darlene A. Alan, Beau and I still have to discuss the names. In the meantime, it would be great to get comments from NA Ralo on the list of candidates identified so far. A rather interesting development is that Michael Geist indeed might be interested. I had emailed him earlier but not received a reply. As luck would have it, I spoke to him during yesterday's CIRA meeting and seemed interested. However, said he'd need consult a colleague to find out what the time commitment is like and get back to me ASAP. Should he confirm, then my short list would be Wendy and Michael. Thought I haven't committed myself to supporting anyone - Thought i'd share what my current preferences are. That being - one canadian - Michael (if he confirms), if not Evan (who has confirmed) - and one person from the USA - Wendy (in no particular order). I mention two names, as Wendy is also a candidate for Board liaison. The decision on ALAC board liaison should have been known by now. The results are being withheld for reasons that , well, i can't reasonably explain. I won't say more.... Suffice it to say.. that should Wendy be elected as liaison, then my short list would be entirely Canadian - namely Michael & then Evan (again in no order) Please share this message with NA RALO and other related at-large lists. regards Robert -- https://st.icann.org/naralo/index.cgi? na_nominating_committee_candidates_2007 * Hugh Dierker [USA] o current chair of the GNSO's General Assembly + Proposed by Danny Younger + Confirmed * Michael Geist [Canada] o Professor, University of Ottawa Law School + Proposed by Robert Guerra + Contacted at CIRA annual meeting (Sept 6, 2007) + Will shortly reply if interested. + Bio: Brief Bio, Complete CV * Evan Leibovich [Canada] o ALS Representative, CLUE (Canada) + Proposed by Beau & Robert + Confirmed * Wendy Seltzer [USA] o Proposed by Robert Guerra o Confirmed * Danny Younger [USA] o Contacted - not available regards, Robert --- Robert Guerra <rguerra@privaterra.ca> Managing Director, Privaterra Tel +1 416 893 0377 _______________________________________________ NA-Discuss mailing list NA-Discuss@atlarge-lists.icann.org http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/mailman/listinfo/na-discuss_atlarge-lists .icann.org <http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/mailman/listinfo/na-discuss_atlarge-list s.icann.org> --- Draft MoU with ICANN: http://www.icannwiki.org/NA_RALO_MOU Draft Operating Principles: http://www.icannwiki.org/NA_RALO_OP Draft Code of Conduct: http://www.icannwiki.org/NARALO_Code_of_Conduct
