Let me be up-front with my personal intentions for L.A. There are enough people already listed as involved in the outreach/recruitment activity that I honestly think I'd be redundant there (though I could be of some help in advance prep). I've always indicated that my big interest was in the Summit, and since that will take a lot of work I'd like to concentrate my personal efforts there. What I would like to do is find the people from here and elsewhere within the At-Large community with the interest and ability to help make this work, and to form a Summit Steering Committee from that group. I would like to have that Committee funded to meet in L.A., not only with each other but also with ICANN staff and possibly Board members, in order to gain official approval of a budget (and of course general sanction of the concept). This means that the Summit Steering Committee needs to assemble reasonably soon in order to make this happen (at very least to advocate a budget for bringing the Committee to L.A. to work to get to the next step.) If there is no funding to bring the committee to L.A. and/or insufficient interest in the Summit, I probably won't be there. - Evan
