Dear NARALO community - I am really looking forward to the candidate forum tomorrow. Per the process, I’ve updated my SOI and am providing a brief introductory statement to my interests and qualifications below. https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/atlarge/pages/99735589/Ron... With 30+ years of internet experience, a career that has followed both technology and finance, expertise and leadership, I bring a unique set of experiences and skills as your candidate for NARALO Chair. My involvement with ICANN began in 2010, 5 years on the ASO, 6 years on the ICANN Board, followed by involvement across ISPC, IPC, BC, NCUC. Early in my career I chaired the ARIN advisory council and participated in standards work within the IETF. I now sit on the Board of ARIN, co-chair the ISOC DC chapter, and have been a regular participant in At-large, but especially everything NARALO. I bring a new leadership option as Chair, but not a new face. I look back at the rotation of Chair, Secretariat, ALAC and Nomcom and see a number of the same volunteers returning. This would be my first leadership role with NARALO, but not my first leadership role. I am comfortable leading discussions, chairing committees and boards, bring a very inclusive style that welcomes input from all and especially encourages new participants to get involved. I would bring that same style to NARALO. I am fair, open, dedicated and very approachable. My goal are to work across our ALS’s and individual members with intentionality to best serve the needs of our RALO and advocate for those needs to ICANN staff, ALAC and the rest of the ICANN community. My priorities will be on outreach and rich RALO involvement. I thank you in advance for your consideration and look forward to the opportunity to serve you as NARALO Chair. sincerely, -ron — Executive Management, Corporate Governance, Technology Strategy www.linkedin.com/in/rondasilva +1.703.505.4548

Dear Staff and NARALO Members, It is my pleasure to nominate Ron da Silva to be the ALAC Chair. Ron brings a wealth of experience to NARALO. Not only was he a past ICANN Board Member having been nominated by the ASO for two terms, but also is a current Board Member of ARIN and hopes to build on the current NARALO MOU with ARIN and strengthen our ties with them. He was also past chair of the Loudon County Communications Commission so will be able to bring this expertise to NARALO. While on the ICANN Board Ron chaired the Finance Committee and several other committees. Besides this Managerial and Governance experience, Ron also brings a deep technical expertise to the position. Lastly, Ron brings an inclusive style to NARALO encouraging others to get involved and share their expertise. This includes reaching out to all the ALSes and Individual members and hearing what their interests and concerns are and help them get more involved in NARALO. I believe Ron's inclusive style of chairing will serve NARALO well and look forward to working with him.
