I generally agree with almost everything Karl said. The deficiencies of ALAC are well described, though I still take complete exception that his romantic notion of direct end-user elections would necessarily produce better results than ALAC is capable of doing. I would seriously ask ALAC to consider his words -- and especially his complaint that the current At-Large hierarchy has too many layers -- as it considers establishment of yet another layer, an Executive Committee. There are many other things to consider, but I'll comment later when I have more time. - Evan
