In other regions, the RALO can be a strong voice in the overall community. In North America, we are competing with the vast majority of ICANN contracted parties and the overall Internet and technology industry, groups that we do not necessarily see eye-to-eye on in some areas. We need to leverage those areas where we do agree, and find innovative ways of making our point where we may be in a minority. And in both, find allies wherever they are. Hi All
We have tried to have better communication with Joe and Chris as to events they are doing and we also had a meeting with him in Morocco on NARALO issues.
Perhaps we should be coaching this discussion in more broader terms vs only the regions strategic plans.
One story. I spoke with David Vvorst at Washington DC to be a speaker on multistakeholderism at one of his events and the answer was quite simple. Sponsors have preference. Funding to buy a seat at the table is an issue.

HI All,
Yes Glenn and I have mentioned this several times and asked why we do not have a plan and the answer we have gotten is that Global Stakeholder Engagement doe snot think we need a plan. I tend to disagree. Allan's response on the call when it was brought up was that NARALO can not make GSE do something they are not interested in doing. I also disagree with that statement . I think we should directly ask for a North American Strategy document how does GSE plan on increasing engagement in the Lower Income areas, in the vast student population, with disadvantaged communities, with Indigenous communities, with people with disabilities and special needs. I would like to have that answer.
These are just some of the things I would like to see in a strategy
Best,
Judith

I was wondering the same thing. In fact, have you heard anything from the ICANN NA VP ever?

They also said that these plans are alligned with the their regions VP's plans ie. LAC and AFrican, Middle East strategies. We broached this with staff asking why North American has opted not to have a North American plan. Staff to followup Currently we have a CROPP outreach and engagement strategy for CROPP and if North America chooses to have a plan we need to discuss this in detail.
