*Dear NARALO Community,* I hope this email finds you well. As someone who has stepped forward and put my name in the hat for this role, I wanted to share some timely industry intelligence that underscores why the *ACES Phishing Campaign* is so vital right now—and how I hope to guide our efforts. Microsoft recently released its *Q1 2026 Phishing Threats Report* (which you can read here: SQ Magazine - Microsoft Q1 2026 Phishing Threats <https://sqmagazine.co.uk/microsoft-q1-2026-phishing-threats/>). The findings are a stark reminder of our current reality: we are seeing a massive surge in highly sophisticated credential harvesting, localized social engineering, and evasion tactics that slip past standard defenses. As end-user advocates, we know these aren’t just abstract security metrics—they represent real risks to the everyday internet users we represent at the ALAC level. If given the opportunity to lead the ACES Phishing Campaign for NARALO, my goal is to bridge this kind of real-world, industry-grade threat intelligence with practical, community-driven education. We need to empower our At-Large Structures (ALSes) with actionable strategies to defend against DNS abuse and social engineering before the bait is taken. I look forward to collaborating closely with all of you to turn these challenges into a strong, visible defense campaign for NARALO. I would love to hear your thoughts on where you think our regional focus should be as we kick this off. Subject: Nominating Leads for the ACES Phishing Campaign
To, NARALO Chair
Hi Greg,
I’m writing to bring your attention to the ACES Phishing Campaign and the upcoming requirement to nominate a minimum of two RALO leads from our community by May 8.
This initiative is a perfect segue into the broader topic of DNS Abuse. Phishing remains one of the most significant threats to the end-user community, and this campaign provides us with a concrete opportunity to make a difference in how we address these vulnerabilities.
I am eager to contribute to this initiative and would like to volunteer as one of the leads. Given my technical background and my commitment to the NARALO community, I am ready to put in the work to ensure this project has a meaningful impact on user safety.
I believe that taking a proactive role in programs like ACES is a vital way for NARALO to demonstrate leadership and protect the interests of the community. I look forward to your support and to working together on this.
Best regards,
Mohibul Mahmud

All,
We are requesting *expressions of interest to act as the NARALO lead (or a NARALO lead) responsible for co-leading the ACES Phishing Campaign* *.*
Please note the following:
- There can be more than one NARALO lead. - The NARALO lead(s) will be responsible for driving the phishing campaign at the NARALO level and coordinating with the ACES team and leads from other RALOs. - The ACES team will provide training and a toolkit to the RALO leads, who in turn will train interested members of NARALO to organize community-level training sessions.
If you are interested, please respond to me and Rookkaya, with a copy to ICANN At Large Staff. If you have questions, please ask us or any member of ACES.
Please respond no later than 23:59 UTC on May 10.
Thank you!
