It reads pretty well to me - there are some typos in there that I will fix when you get it on the wiki. I see you are in there now. j On Mon, Mar 22, 2010 at 2:50 PM, Eduardo Diaz <eduardodiazrivera@gmail.com> wrote:
All:
I have been tasked to have our NARALO flyer ready for the next ICANN meeting in Brussels. So I set a dead line of April 15 to have all the information required to start putting everything together.
To do this I need your help to finalize a couple of sections. One is the issues that are important to our region and the other testimonials.
With regards to the issues I have identified the following ones:
---0--- SECTION: What issues are Important to NARALO
We are particularly interested in the following ICANN issues. We believe these have more relevance in our region for they affect, in some way, everyone and every time we connect to the Internet: Introduction of the New Generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs)
New gTLDs will bring about the biggest change in the Interent since its inception 40 year ago. NARALO is working to influence the launch of new gTLDs to convey Internet users to new opportunities, and ways to form communities and use the Internet. Ipv4 to Ipv6 Transition
The first publicly used version of the Internet Protocol, Version 4 (IPv4), provided an addressing capability of about 4 billion addresses . At the time it was considered sufficient. With the explosive growth and worldwide proliferation of networks this resource is fast facing depletion. Since every single Internet connected computer need a unique IP address, ensuring that the system has a way of growing in the future is important to everyone. The addressing system is transitioning to the next generation (Ipv6) and NARALO is contributing to policy development that will ensure that this transition is done as transparently as posible. WHOIS
The WHOIS registry is the domain name systems' legacy database that contains contact information from registrants of Internet domains. Often times,The WhoIs database contains inaccurate or intentionally fraudulent information. The WhoIs privacy debate is a hot topic for NARALO for it deals with privacy rights on the internet, cybersquatting and the domain monetization industry. ICANN Transparency
Since ICANN policy shapes the crucial global addressing system of the Internet, it is of the utmost importance that ICANN exercise good governance. NARALO is dedicated to making ICANN more democratic, transparent and accountable. End-user Protection
NARALO is involved in establishing policies to deal with domain hijackers, reducing spam and ensuring the adoption of consumer centric solutions to cyber threats. Trademark Protection
The launch of new gTLDs raises some questions about the appropriate extend of trademark protection, and the balance between rights of trademarks holders versus freedom of expression of Internet users. NARALO is deply involved in proving answers to policy questions about intellectual property, and Internet rights and principles.

Please let me know if you want to add/delete/change any of the above. If you are going to add, include a small description explaining the issue and why it is important to the region (please no more than a paragraph. Space is limited.). Make all changes directly in the wiki ( https://st.icann.org/naralo/index.cgi?naralo_flier) Everybody should have access to edit.
I have seen testimonials put in in other RALO brochures. Tell me what do you think about having this in ours. And if you think that is a good idea and you want to be in it, please include your picture and testimonial in the wiki. (https://st.icann.org/naralo/index.cgi?naralo_flier) .
Whatever you are going to add/change in the wiki please do it before April 1. This should not take to much of your time.
We'll find a way to fit everything.
Best,
-ed
