HI NARALO Members, As others were introducing their statements to all members I thought I would also post mine here. My SOI is located, https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/atlarge/pages/99720157/Jud... feel free to ask me any questions, I look forward to hearing from you. For those who do not know me, I have been a dedicated NARALO member and end-user advocate for over 12 years, with a strong record of leadership and delivery. The ALAC and the At-Large Community play a critical role in strengthening ICANN’s multistakeholder model by working closely with the Board, ICANN Org, and other constituencies—including the GAC and NCSG—to ensure that the voice of end users is not only heard, but meaningfully reflected in policy and strategic outcomes. Ifelected, I will build on this momentum and further amplify our collective impact. ALAC members serve as essential advocates for individual Internet users, helping to balance the interests of contracted parties and other stakeholders. This requires active engagement across policy, governance, operational, and financial discussions, as well as consistent participation in key At-Large working groups such as the CPWG and OFB-WG. During my first term on the ALAC, Idemonstratedthis commitment by authoring more than 15 public comments, actively contributing to both groups, and engaging directly with the ICANN Board and executive leadership through substantive questions and interventions. Throughout my 12 years in ICANN, I have heldnumerousleadership roles within NARALO, including serving as Secretariat, chairing task forces, andrepresentingthe community in cross-community working groups. I approach complex challenges with a focus on collaboration, consensus-building, and results. As a primary penholder, I have worked with diverse stakeholders to develop balanced, inclusive policy language that advances shared goals while addressing competing priorities. My experience spans key areas of ICANN’s work, including strategic planning, governance, financial policy, and strengthening the multistakeholder model. I have contributed to major initiatives such as the Five-Year Strategic Plan,NomComrebalancing, Auction Proceeds, and broader Internet governance discussions. I have also worked to build stronger bridges between the At-Large Community and other constituencies, recognizing that our influence is greatest when we align and collaborate. I am deeply committed to advancing the interests of end users, particularly those from underrepresented and marginalized communities, including women, Indigenous peoples, and persons with disabilities. Through sustained volunteer service and global engagement in processes such as WSIS and the IGF, I have consistently championed diversity, equity, and inclusion. When I take ona responsibility, I see it through to completion. At the same time, we must address several pressing challenges facing NARALO, ALAC, and the broader At-Large Community. Volunteer sustainability is at risk due to increasing demands and limited support, leading to burnout and reduced participation. Volunteer recognition must also improve; meaningful and visible mechanisms to acknowledge contributions are essential for retention and equity. Finally, we must better align members’ skills and interests with opportunities for engagement through clearer pathways, targeted outreach, and a stronger value proposition for participation. I have already raised these issues in my engagement with the Board and leadership and remain committed to advancing practical solutions. If elected as the NARALO ALAC representative, I will continue working to strengthen our community, enhance participation, and ensure that the voices of end usersremaincentral to ICANN’s mission. _________________________________________________________________________ Judith Hellerstein, Founder & CEO Hellerstein & Associates 3001 Veazey Terrace NW, Washington DC 20008 Phone: (202) 362-5139 Skype ID: judithhellerstein Mobile/Whats app: +1202-333-6517 E-mail:Judith@jhellerstein.com Website:www.jhellerstein.com Linked In:www.linkedin.com/in/jhellerstein/ Opening Telecom & Technology Opportunities Worldwide On 4/12/26 8:46 AM, Denise de alcantara-hochbaum via NA-Discuss wrote:
Dear Members and Staff,
I am pleased to nominate Judith Hellerstein for the ICANN ALAC position representing NARALO.
I have known Judith for many years and greatly respect her integrity, experience, and dedication to public service. Her extensive work within ICANN (over 15 years), along with her strong commitment to representing end users—especially underserved communities and persons with disabilities from different parts of the world—make her an outstanding candidate.
Judith is collaborative, proactive, thoughtful, and results-oriented. She brings people together, builds consensus across diverse topics, and approaches challenges with clarity and purpose.
During her previous service on ALAC, where she was selected by NomCom, she contributed actively to the OFB Working Group and the CPWG. She participated attentively in policy review processes and authored and co-authored more than 15 public comments over two years. In addition, she has been consistently engaged in all required ALAC/NARALO activities, as expected by ICANN members in leadership positions.
Her work in Internet governance extends beyond ICANN. She has been an active participant in the IGF for several years and is also involved with ISOC-DC. In summary, everything mentioned here reflects that she is a unique and dedicated member of the At-Large community, fully embracing the core values expected by ICANN: staying engaged, contributing actively, attending meetings regularly, and communicating responsibly when unable to attend.
I have full confidence in her ability to continue serving as an excellent and effective representative voice for NARALO.
My kind regards to all,
Denise
