NOMCOM Delegate for NARALO-Glenn McKnight
Please see my self nomination for a second year to the ICANN NOMCOM I have posted my updated SOI and as instructed i posted a Statement https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/NARALO+2020+Regional+Selections Here is the statement I am in the midterm of my 2019-2020 Nomcom and this is an unique volunteer position since the post is best suited by a two year stint. The first year is a learning year and the second is more productive and you step up to volunteer on special committees. This year has been very challenging given no face to face meetings and a huge workload online with a very large number of applications. Regardless I am willing and able to serve for another year. I thank Glenn for nominating me for a second term as the NARALO rep. on ALAC. I accept the nomination and will be posting my statement of interest shortly. Marita
SOI for second term as NARALO representative to ALAC I believe that the voice of At Large, on behalf of Internet end users, is a crucial part of ICANN's structure and it is a role that needs to be strengthened. This is why, during my first term as NARALO rep. to ALAC, I have led discussions and written At Large responses to ICANN's 5-year strategic plan, especially the evolution of the multistakeholder system. But it is also crucial to ensure that the voice of end users flows up through the RALOs and into At Large responses to policy and administrative issues. In order for this to happen, information about ICANN decisions and processes must also flow down to end users in ways that are accessible. I think this will be an important part of our work over the next two years. I hope to have your support to continue in the role as your representative for another term. Marita Moll
