Dear Caleb Here is the link to the panel report. <https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/irp-namecheap-icann-final-declar...> https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/irp-namecheap-icann-final-declar... See also the blog published by ICANN <https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/icann-receives-final-declarat...> https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/icann-receives-final-declarat... This blog is very worrisome and fake news as it does not reflect the report at all and makes it look as if CANN won the argument. Yours Klaus From: Npoc-discuss <npoc-discuss-bounces@icann.org> On Behalf Of Caleb Olumuyiwa Ogundele via Npoc-discuss Sent: Friday, January 6, 2023 11:27 PM To: NPOC Discuss <npoc-discuss@icann.org>; ncsg discuss <NCSG-DISCUSS@listserv.syr.edu> Subject: [Npoc-discuss] ICANN vs NameCheap IRP Decision on Price Cap for Dot ORG Dear NCSG / NPOC Members, Earlier in 2019 a couple of conversations on price caps in the proposed renewal of .ORG Registry Agreement came up as a hot topic and there were lots of public comments on the implication of removing a price cap for the dor ORG. NPOC through the then Chair (Joan Kerr) submitted an open letter and public comment on NPOC's rejection of removing the price cap. (see the attachment to understand the context for those just catching up on the issue). NameCheap an ICANN registrar took ICANN to the Independent Review Process (IRP) panel and a verdict/recommendations were made. The links below are public statements from both ICANN and Namecheap. ICANN's Statement <https://www.namecheap.com/blog/namecheap-vs-icann-removal-of-price-caps-for-...> https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/icann-receives-final-declarat... I'm still searching for the IRP panel report but can't find it. So whoever finds it first should kindly share. Why this email: This is for our general information and to suggest that these issues should be one of the things we should watch out for and engage at the next ICANN meeting as I suspect this issue will always come back to the community for more conversational input. -- Caleb Ogundele Email: muyiwacaleb@gmail.com <mailto:muyiwacaleb@gmail.com> ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Joan Kerr <joankerr@fbsc.org <mailto:joankerr@fbsc.org> > Date: Thu, May 2, 2019 at 8:15 AM Subject: [NPOC-EC] NPOC Public Statement of .org renewal To: <globalsupport@icann.org <mailto:globalsupport@icann.org> >, <npoc-ec@icann.org <mailto:npoc-ec@icann.org> >, Maryam Bakoshi <maryam.bakoshi@icann.org <mailto:maryam.bakoshi@icann.org> > Dear Mr. Weinstein On behalf of the NPOC Executive Committee and members of NPOC, I am submitting the attached statement as our public comment regarding the .org renewal.
