Questions to ICANN board
Dear members, The ICANN board wants some questions from us. Can you think of some relevant ones? I think 2-3 questions would suffice. If we can only come up with a couple of NPOC relevant questions, I think I might include a question about ICANN becoming carbon neutral. It would be great if I could receive these suggestions by Friday. -Raoul
Greetings from. Please, dear Chair Raoul, what do you mean about the term ''carbon neutral'' ? Why do you think that ICANN is becoming a carbone neutral ? It'll be good to know before you talk about in our common name.
From my part, i still wanted to understand the really place of this NPOC in the ICANN ecosystem ? And/or another question is about the recruitement of the new CEO, we wanted to know this process is going on ? Thank you for your kind attention. My 2 cents Warm regards Olévié

I'd like to to continously see that question in Nomcom rebalancing asked. I believe it will serve as a constant reminder that we have not lost the focus on our ask and make such questions continue to serve as an agenda to be reviewed. Thanks Caleb. @Raoul Plommer <plommer@gmail.com> Yes, I would love to ask what assurances and or efforts the board is making or taking to ensure rebalancing in ICANN, especially in NomCom. If you do ask about carbon neutrality, how about spicing it up by asking why ICANN (or at least Constituency Travel) so strongly prefers flying over ground transport. That is, why don't they pay for (long distance) train or bus travel as an alternative to flying. Besides being more climate-friendly it would even save ICANN money, and in many instances it'd be just as fast or even faster than flying. Thanks for the quick replies! So maybe something like this: 1. What is happening with the second NCSG NomCom seat? When will NPOC finally get its seat at NomCom? The strong recommendation to rebalance NomCom by adding a seat to NCSG (NPOC) has still not been done, although the recommendation was done already six years ago. 2. What is the process for finding a new CEO for ICANN and at what stage are we with that? 3. What is ICANN doing to become carbon neutral and thus sustainable? Why isn't traveling to ICANN meetings by land (when possible) the preferred method of traveling? Especially in cases, where traveling by land would actually be the faster and more convenient option? -Raoul On Wed, 1 Mar 2023 at 08:44, Tapani Tarvainen via Npoc-discuss < npoc-discuss@icann.org> wrote:

Dear Raoul, I think based on the core work of ICANN being DNS and within the GDC., Trust and security in the digital environment is an area, that's where I see alignment. I hope it makes sense.
