Seconded. Looks like a good slate to me. I'd be especially glad to see Emmanuel Vitus return to NPOC leadership, noting that he hasn't been idle even when he had no formal position during the past year. I'm sure he'd be an excellent Chair. Dear colleagues, Thank you for the nomination and for your confidence. I humbly accept. At a time of growing geopolitical tensions and increasing debates around digital sovereignty, Internet governance and the future of the DNS, it is important that NPOC continues to defend and carry the voice of not for profit organizations within ICANN. I am ready to serve the community with commitment. I will share my candidate statement shortly. Dear NPOC Members, I am pleased to stand as a candidate for Secretary of the NPOC Executive Committee. I am grateful to Adebunmi Akinbo for the nomination and to Tapani Tarvainen for the seconding. I currently serve as NPOC's Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, a role that has given me firsthand insight into what makes our ExCom function effectively: consistent documentation, timely communication, and a shared institutional memory that carries the work forward from one term to the next. The Secretary position is where those foundations are built and maintained, and I believe it is one of the most consequential roles on the committee. As Secretary, I will bring the same discipline to NPOC: accurate and accessible meeting records, well-coordinated correspondence, and administrative support that enables the Chair and the full ExCom to focus on strategic priorities. I will treat the role as a service to the membership, not simply an internal function. I am committed to NPOC's mission and to supporting a strong, well-organized term for the incoming ExCom. I respectfully ask for your vote. Caleb Ogundele On Sun, May 10, 2026 at 7:03 PM Adebunmi Akinbo via Npoc-discuss < npoc-discuss@icann.org> wrote:

Carlos is a lawyer from Argentina and a pioneer in the development and evolution of the Internet ecosystem in Latin America. For more than 20 years, he has actively participated in ICANN and Internet governance spaces, consistently advocating for the interests of non-commercial users and promoting the meaningful participation of civil society within the multistakeholder model. Throughout his long trajectory, he has contributed to policy discussions and community work across the ICANN ecosystem, including participation within the GNSO community and other Internet governance initiatives focused on the public interest and users’ rights. In addition to his extensive community experience, Carlos has also built a strong academic and professional background. For more than two decades, he has served as professor at the Faculty of Law of the National University of Córdoba, teaching Economics and Internet Law as well as Law and Economics, helping to bridge the fields of law, technology, economics, and digital policy. He is also founder of AGEIA DENSI Argentina Chapter, through which he has promoted dialogue, awareness, and engagement around Internet governance and digital ecosystem issues. Furthermore, he has organized conferences and academic forums related to Internet governance and emerging digital policy challenges. I believe his experience, institutional knowledge, strategic vision, and long-standing commitment to non-commercial users make him an excellent candidate for the role of Policy Chair. His regional perspective from Latin America, combined with his broad experience within the ICANN community, would be a valuable contribution to NPOC’s policy work. Thank you for your consideration.
