Registrars: Nominations are now open for the election of two GNSO representatives. We have two GNSO Council seats available - one currently held by Ross Rader, who after many fine years of service is term limited from seeking another two year term, and the other currently held by Adrian Kinderis who was elected in May to replace Bruce Tonkin. The elected representatives will take office at the end of the ICANN meeting in Los Angeles and serve for two years until the end of the ICANN Annual Meeting in 2009. As Tom Keller from Germany remains our third GNSO representative, nominees to these positions must be citizens of a non-European country as defined by ICANN (http://www.icann.org/montreal/geo-regions-topic.htm). Voting RC members will each have two votes to place. The two winners will be the top two vote getters from different ICANN regions. For example, if Candidate 1 from Asia receives 20 votes; Candidate 2 from Asia receives 18 votes; and Candidate 3 from Africa receives 16 votes, Candidates 1 and 3 would be elected. The nomination period will be open from today until 11:59 pm/23:59 PDT on Friday, August 3. All nominations must be seconded by at least one member in order to proceed. To be on the ballot, candidates must accept the nomination and provide a conflict of interest statement (including a statement of country of citizenship) by the end of the close of the nomination period (or within two days after the actual nomination). Anyone affiliated with a Registrar Constituency Member is eligible to make nominations, second nominations, or hold any office. Please send all nominations and seconds to the list at registrars@gnso.icann.org. The voting period will be from August 13 to August 23. Voting will take place by e-mail ballot sent out individually to each Voting Member's e-mail address. Ballots should be filled out and returned to the e-mail address stated in the ballot. They should not be copied to any e-mail list. The results will be announced on this list. Thanks. Jon
