The thread on hyperlocal seems misplaced to me as the co-author of RFC 8806. The text of the document explicitly says "The root zone can be retrieved from anywhere as long as it comes with all the DNSSEC records needed for validation." It seemed to me that the Caucus already shot down the idea that the source of the zone data was relevant. --Paul Hoffman
