The WHOIS RT was established by the ICANN Board in response to the Affirmation of Commitments to review the effectiveness of ICANN's WHOIS policies. On 5 December, 2011, the WHOIS RT's Initial Report was posted for public comment, and includes a series of recommendations to amend the WHOIS related obligations as listed in the RAA. Due to the overlap of issues related to WHOIS, Staff believes that a PDP on WHOIS should include evaluation of these additional RAA recommendations produced by the WHOIS RT.
