Alain, Yes, this study was "management consulting" as opposed to peer-reviewed scientific research. Board members had called for something more "scientific" before another round. My understanding is there is no resolution of what that could mean or what the Board will actually fund. Some existing peer-reviewed research on this topic (but I'm not up to date, others may have additional pointers) IEEE: "MitM Attack by Name Collision: Cause Analysis and Vulnerability Assessment in the New gTLD Era", 2016, http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/7546529/ CCS: "Client-side Name Collision Vulnerability in the New gTLD Era: A Systematic Study", 2017, https://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=3134084 IEEE: "Leakage of .onion at the DNS Root: Measurements, Causes, and Countermeasures", 2017, http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7972981/ k On Sat, Jan 26, 2019 at 08:11:51PM +0000, ALAIN AINA via Ssr2-review wrote:
