Action items - calls & meeting
Hi, All. Following-up on some action items from today’s call: 1. Team members on today’s call seemed to agree with rotating Team calls through 3 times: 05:00, 13:00 and 20:00 UTC on Thursdays. What’s your preference on call frequency? Once a week? Bi-weekly? Previously we held times on the calendar each week and cancelled if not needed. If you have preferences, please post on the list before tomorrow. 1. Team members on today’s call settled on DC, Aug.22 – 24 for our next face-to-face meeting. * If you need help with visas or other travel documentation for this meeting, please email staff directly this week and copy me and Eric. * For new members – ICANN has its own protocols for arranging travel. If you haven’t received information and documentation on this, please contact staff directly. * Staff – please send members a calendar hold, schedule the conference room and supporting operations, inform ICANN Travel and let us know how quickly they can contact members to arrange flights and hotels. It would be great if we could save ICANN funds by booking expeditiously. Thanks. Hi, This rotation of call times was not terribly successful last time, and I have no grounds for optimism that it will be any better this time around. As I recall the 0500 UTC call was not attended by many, and the constant rotation of the call times meant chaos in scheduling around these calls. Geoff

Hi. Yes, initially the Team chose 3 rotating times to "share the pain" and went down to 2 due to lack of attendance at the 0500 (or there about) time slot. Staff has again suggested 3 call times, given the distribution of members. If 0500 is dropped, do our Asia/Pacific members feel 1300 and/or 2000 meets their needs? Personally, I am good for a single slot at 2000 UTC. Others potentially so affected should speak up. Last time “sharing the pain” actually meant that folk picked the timeslot that best suited them and we quickly found that the calls were disjunct and not very functional given the fractured attendance that resulted. Being a new member, but having worked with international teams and knowing the pain of scheduling. My recommendation would be to have two calls vs three. Once a week should work for now, we can always add another if the need requires. I think we should send out a doodle to request what two general Thursday times works best for everyone. -Scott On 7/5/18, 1:43 PM, "Ssr2-review on behalf of Denise Michel" <ssr2-review-bounces@icann.org on behalf of denisemichel@fb.com> wrote: Hi.
