I'm one of the Internet and Unicode Pioneers in Sri Lanka. I Co-chaired ICANN's Sinhala Generation Panel. I chair Universal Acceptance Steering Committee for the Sri Lanka Universal Acceptance Local Initiative project. I'm also a member of the Board of Directors of the LK Domain Registry since its inception and was the founding president of ISOC Sri Lanka. I led many government Software Development projects in Sri Lanka as the head of the Software Development Unit of the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) and COO/CTO of Theekshana, a company set up originally by UCSC. Currently, I'm involved in the development of the Electronic Government Procurement System for the Government of Sri Lanka. I'm an author and researcher who was involved in encoding Sinhala Numerals and implementation of Sinhala Unicode.
