Dear members of the WG and Staff, I have read the document that will be our navigation chart to achieve the objectives that in terms of communications have been drawn up within the UA. I want to propose a special emphasis on communication strategies, social networks and capacity building, which allow us to reach end users and our regions in general so that they know what the UA is about, since if a survey is carried out We can realize the almost total ignorance about this important issue, and we cannot appropriate what we do not know. We can divide the communications work into two parts, one within the UA and ICANN and another towards the regions, where we could have the different RALOS as allies, since they represent the end users. Best, regards, -- *Lilian Ivette De Luque Bruges*
Dear All, I suggest that Chair and Vice make a presentation of what can work while we key into such a template or strategy with additions, subtractions and recommendations. My 10kobo. On Tue, 15 Oct 2019, 4:19 pm LILIAN IVETTE Trip and Learned, < lidebru18@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Lilian, “I want to propose a special emphasis on communication strategies, social networks and capacity building, which allow us to reach end users and our regions in general so that they know what the UA is about” Interesting. It is simple information and knowledge. The internet is immense and it is good for its users to know how they communicate and navigate entirely in their local languages. That they know about the actions that UA does to achieve the objective of connecting to the world and if the domain names and emails do not work in all languages it is impossible to reach that goal. Finally, as incredible as the majority of the population may seem, even those in the area of information technology do not know this initiative and neither do ICANN's work (but this is another issue). Lilian, a consensus has been floating around the community this past year(s) that the key messaging, while being kept accessible to all, should be more directed towards developers and decision-makers. As important as it is to get the public to know about the project, what is the most needed is for solutions to be developed. It would be good to see a healthy balance such as 40% communication that informs the broader audience and 60% communication that is focused on people who decide whether to include a library that will support UA or not when they start a new project.
