Hello UA Communications WG members, I would like to nominate myself for the Vice Chair role of the UA Communication WG. I speak and write English very comfortably and I am a good communicator as well. As part of my engagement at EGIGFA, I sometimes engage in writing and designing our communication materials. This is a great exposure for me and I will be readily available to help the UA in all their communication activities. *Below is my brief profile: * Raymond is the Founder and President of the E-Governance and Internet Governance Foundation for Africa (EGIGFA), a civil society that engages in internet governance advocacy. He leads his team at EGIGFA to engage in a series of advocacy activities to promote internet governance, e-governance, digital rights, and digital inclusion. Paramount among the initiatives of EGIGFA is the annual Ghana School on Internet Governance (GhanaSIG) fellowship. Raymond engages in broad internet governance engagements locally and internationally. He presently serves as the African representative to the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) for a two-year tenure in ICANN. He was the Non-Commercial Stakeholder User Group (NCSG) representative to ICANN’s GNSO’s Standing Selection Committee. Furthermore, since 2017 he has been volunteering for the UNDESA as a researcher for the publication of the various UN’s E-Governance Survey reports. Furthermore, he was selected by the AFRINIC Board to serve on the 2021 Nomination Committee (NomCom). Hello UA Communications WG members, I would like to nominate myself for the Chair of Communication Group under UASG. My brief is as below:- I am currently the CEO of National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI). Having spent 36 years in various telecommunication roles, I am an expert in internet, broadband and telecom sectors. Some of the organizations I have been associated with include BSNL, MTNL and the Department of Telecommunications, India. I was on the board of NIXI for over 12 years before I took up the role of CEO just last year. Domestically, I am Chair of IIGF-21, Chairman of Multilingual Committee formed by Govt. of India and member of Internet Resilience Committee formed by Govt. of India. Internationally I am Vice Chair of IDNccPDP4 Working Group of ccNSO, I am Chair of IDN ccPDP4 Working group and DS sub-group. I am also Chair of Working Group formed to design strategies for three years for APTLD. Also I am member of IDN EPDP Variant Working Group of GSNO and also Liaison officer between ccNSO and GNSO for this Working Group. The undersigned has taken several lectures at various platforms including CANN, IGF and APTLD etc. My aim is to make the internet accessible and beneficial to every individual in our country. My aim is to make inclusive growth of Internet with easy accessibility, always available, affordable and helpful in official & home work environment. Since 1983, when I joined Government, I was recruited as a bureaucrat (top position) which means that I was at the leadership position since 1983. I worked on various positions controlling as large as 3000 persons directly working under me. 40 years of my work till date includes manpower control includes planning, interaction, training, re-training, providing leadership to the group which include both technical and non-technical leadership and providing desired results to the Government. The undersigned is currently Chair of India Internet Governance Forum which successfully concluded IIGF-21 in December, 2021. Leading IIGF means leading a multi-stakeholder group with varied personalities and different objectives.
