EAI Readiness for UASG
Dear all: I think it would be a good idea of the UASG mail system could support EAI addresses. I expect to put this out to ‘tender’ as part of our open and transparent process. So, I’m writing to find out what I should seek: 1) Must provide mail hosting for *@uasg.tech 2) Must be able to send to and receive from all email addresses, including ear addresses. 3) Must be able to support IMAP? I expect to use MSFT Outlook on a Windows platform as my mail client. 4) Spam/Antivirus? We currently support 4 email addresses and I expect that we might have up to ten. Any other suggestions to include in my help wanted notice? Thanks. Don Don Hollander Universal Acceptance Steering Group www.uasg.tech don.hollander@icann.org Skype: don_hollander

That seems about right. For #3 it's POP and IMAP and SUBMIT with SSL and/or TLS. I'd skip #4 since all mail systems above the linux basement hobbyist level have it. I'd say it needs webmail, too, since that's how a lot of people read their mail regularly, and it's sometimes handy when you're away from home. R's, John
Not sure I would skip #4, always good to be explicit and avoid being surprised later. Agree we should add #5, webmail. -----Original Message----- From: UA-EAI [mailto:ua-eai-bounces@icann.org] On Behalf Of John Levine Sent: Monday, January 29, 2018 8:03 AM To: ua-eai@icann.org Subject: Re: [UA-EAI] EAI Readiness for UASG In article <C2BC40F0-5DCB-4368-B495-A78D2839834D@icann.org> you write:

I suppose it couldn't hurt. Out of pure morbid curiosity I'd be interested in seeing a mail service that attempted to operate without filtering.
Agree we should add #5, webmail.

Yep.

True, but it might as well be mentioned. In particular, that filtering not auto-block EAI addresses, nor anyone who is a listed participant. I say this because some systems seemingly irreversibly block @yandex.ru addresses...
