Please note that they are available on your wiki page at: https://community.icann.org/display/ATRT2/ATRT2+WorkStream+1+2013.07.04+Tel… Thank you so much Very best Alice Work-Stream 1 Call 05 – Thursday, 4 July 2013 - No updates to SoIs. - Agenda adopted. - Review of Open Action Items: o Alan Greenberg to post materials pertaining to the GNSO’s discussion held on the original BGC response to the NCUC. Alan Greenberg will also post the BGC response that followed and will reference the recording and transcript of the discussion held within the GNSO. o Questions on 9.1.e PDP Ø Alan Greenberg will echo questions to CSG on full list. Ø Olivier Crépin-Leblond encouraged all to send questions to full list and noted that work would be conducted on this face-to-face in Durban if no questions circulated. Ø Fiona Alexander noted that the format used during the session with CSG was effective, i.e. 2 or 3 questions to kick off discussions, and that a full set of questions might not be needed as a result. Fiona requested that the following question be asked: do people believe subdivisions within the ICANN Community, GNSO etc help or hinder participation in the process? Ø Concerns that framing debate with too many questions might decrease participation. Ø Alan’s questions: Do you have concerns about ICANN’s overall transparency and accountability? Do you have issues that are specific to your group? o Olivier Crépin-Leblond noted improvement in ICANN multilingualism but raised concerns about capacity. Alan Greenberg stressed that funding is the issue and that ICANN has committed to fund that properly. Strategic decisions remain to be made and the status cannot be considered as complete. Issue to explore. Avri Doria recommended working group’s early involvement in language process. o No additional reading material to add. o Cross-cutting issues will be discussed face-to-face. - Documents added to organizational page: checklist, discussion of public comment process (material discussed + minutes) - Olivier Crépin-Leblond walked work-stream 1 Members through summaries of Excel document. Dear WS 1 members, Some of you had inquired about options available to access ATRT2 wiki pages and documents in offline mode, particularly as you travel to Durban. Gurnick Subject: [SUPPORT #73530] Request from ATRT 2 Hi Larisa, There are multiple ways that you can do this, though none of them will present a user friendly way to access them offline. Method 1) Go to the ATRT2 space and from the Confluence menu and select Browse > Advanced. On the left hand side, select PDF Export. Use the default settings and select Export. It will export the pages and then allow you to download the PDF. This is the best way to export the pages, but it won't give you all the attaches. I attached screen shots to do this. Method 2) Go to the ATRT2 space and from the Confluence menu and select Browse > Advanced. On the left hand side, select HTML Export. Use the default settings and select Export. It will export the pages and then allow you to download a zip of the HTML. This way will export each page, which you have to pen manually with a browser. It also exports the attachments, but not in a easy to access way. Method 3) Go to the specific ATRT2 page in your browser. From the web browser menue, select File > Save Page As > Webpage Complete. This will save an offline full HTML page of only the page you are on. This is the most tedious method as you would need to do it from every page you wanted to go to. Simplification of Staff input documents

Dear Work Stream 1 members, a large MS Excel document was provided in response to the questions which we have asked Staff concerning the implementation of ATRT1 recommendations. Staff input Document <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/41880363/Consolidated+Resp…> Whilst this document contains a wealth of information, many of us, myself included, have found the document somehow hard to navigate. As a result, a first step was for Staff to divide the document according to the WS1 sub-streams (a-d). * 9.1(a) the relevant staff answers to questions <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/41887587/WS+1+%289.1a%29+C…> * 9.1(b) the relevant staff answers to questions <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/41887587/WS+1+%289.1b%29+C…> * 9.1(c) the relevant staff answers to questions <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/41887587/WS+1+%289.1c%29+C…> * 9.1(d) the relevant staff answers to questions <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/41887587/WS+1+%289.1d%29+C…> This was still hard to follow because the number of columns still made it impossible for the document to be printed or read without needing to scroll across a line in addition to pagination - thus impossible to be absorbed easily. I figured that at this stage, whilst all information supplied by staff is very useful, we wanted to be able to determine more easily what information was pertinent to our immediate needs: the focussing on finding: * if more information is needed on a particular subject and * the identification of those questions we might decide to pursue further due to an incomplete or unsatisfactory implementation, or * an implementation that raised new potential issues or opened new doors to our analysis. As a result, some of the questions the ATRT2 group asked looked more pertinent for our immediate needs than others that would be of use only if we focussed on a particular ATRT1 recommendation. Colour is a great way to help us focus & immediately realise where our priorities are likely to be. Colours I have used are: * yellow/amber background: something that appears incomplete and needs to be investigated * purple/pink background: something of interest that points to a general document (in fact, mostly two external documents are often referred to, that's: o http://www.icann.org/en/news/in-focus/accountability/atrt-project-list-work… o http://www.icann.org/en/news/in-focus/accountability/atrt-implementation-re… o (it is worth noting that for ease of navigation, I would probably prefer a pointer to the correct page of the general document rather than a pointer to the document as a whole.) * red writing: something of special interest if a follow-up recommendation was to be made by ATRT2 Suggested colours: * Red background: critical shortfall of the ATRT1 recommendation cycle of implementation that needs to be investigated and analysed by ATRT2 * Green background: to be added at the end of lines where there appears to be no more work needed from ATRT2 - recommendation fully implemented and no more work desired I guess we could make use of more colours but let's start with only a few and see if that helps us grasp the data with more ease. Please be so kind to look at these documents and let me know if these are more helpful. They are all in MS Excel format. If you'd rather have a PDF copy, I'd be happy to upload it too. *Downloading of complete Web Site Repository* I am mindful of a question that was asked in the previous conference call, whether all documents to be read could be downloaded to a disk or a USB key since most of us will be in the air for quite a few hours and could make use of that airtime to catch up on our reading. I am currently testing a couple of free softwares, but they don't work too well with the Confluence WIKI. Could Staff please ask ICANN IT dept. if they know of a good piece of software that could perform this and allow us to go through the WIKI pages and all attached documents stored there, offline?
