Hello everyone, I'd like to invite each and every one of you to tomorrow's Reviewing the CEP call at 13:00 UTC. It's been some time since we've met collectively as a few of our sub-team members have been focused on collecting data for our sub-group, interviewing a variety of individuals within the ICANN community who have had past experience with the Co-operative Engagement Process (CEP). You'll recall that we had some difficulty moving forward earlier as only one active participant in our small group had ever been part of a CEP. Attached please find notes from the interviews conducted to date. As you can see, we've had a lot of good input, detailed at times, with a variety of sometimes conflicting perspectives. Our next step as a sub-group will be to analyze the data, bring in our own perspectives and set the principles that we would like the CEP Rules, which we are charged with developing, to reflect. Towards that end I'd propose that the next two meetings (we also have scheduled a meeting a week from tomorrow, June 13th, at 13:00 UTC) be focused on doing just that: guided by the data we've developed I hope we can reach consensus on the CEP principles, which we can then bring to the plenary for consideration in Johannesburg or soon thereafter. I'd like to encourage the active participation of everyone in the group during the next few calls. New voices are definitely welcome! Some of you have mentioned that you feel a bit reticent to speak up during the calls, feeling that you may lack expertise in the subject matter. I hope you'll reconsider that perspective. I don't believe there is any such thing as a CEP expert. :) We now have data to think about and reflect upon from those members of the Board, staff and community with the most experience in the CEP. It's now up to us to sort where we want to go with this accountability process and procedure. The next few calls will likely be the most substantively important of our time together. It would be great if we could have as much input and participation as possible. I hope we can count on your help and assistance. Have a wonderful day and I hope to hear from you on the call tomorrow. Thanks for stepping up and volunteering to be part of this important sub-group. Your work here is very much appreciated. Kind Regards, Ed Morris
