Resources on internet fragmentation and case studies on engaging in multilateral forums
Dear all,*[with apologies for cross-posting]*I hope everyone is well as 2024 winds down.I'm getting in touch to share some resources which may be of interest to those on the list as they relate to internet governance and aim to support civil society in efforts to uphold multistakeholder and rights-respecting approaches to internet governance.*Regional roundtables on internet fragmentation*The first set of resources pertain to internet fragmentation. Over the course of the past year, Global Partners Digital has collaborated with fellow civil society organisations to host a series of online roundtables on fragmentation. Each of those roundtables has a summary report and we've also written a short report that summarises the key findings from across the roundtables. Dear Daniela, thanks for this valuable collection! I went through one of the ITU-meeting related papers in some detail and find it excellent. It truly reflects much of what goes on in there and how civil society and even the technical community deal with it. Most recommended - and keep them coming if you can. (The Internet technical community is not welcome at ITU meetings despite any claims to the contrary; witness how few organizations are granted even observer status, how many chairs they get inside the room (one) and where (in the last row) whereas special interests come and go freely with some government delegations, particularly those where state, family and private ownership are deeply commingled.
