Hi Rinalia, Thanks for your note. I too am surprised that they are not going to LAC as i thought they would go in 2018. If they do not have it in PR or in North America we also will not have a meeting in region until 2019. Also as you recall we the board only funded one GA last year and we let Euralo have it since the Dublin meeting was in their region. If they cancel PR and go out of region again we will not have a GA for several years. If you could remind people about that it would be great. Also as Naralo is not able to get fellows we have a harder time getting new young people interested and engaged in ICANN and in Naralo and had been counting on the Next Gen program to introduce icann to university fellows in the region. If the meeting goes our of region than we also lose these next gen fellows. If they can keep that in mind, we would greatly appreciate it Cheers!! Thanks Rinalia and Olivier, I agree with you Olivier about LAC but I am also very surprised with the choice of Johannesburg for a B meeting. It is not a new country with no facility to received A or C meetings. All the best Skills are useful but diversity is essential.

Thanks Rinalia. For those who cannot read through the detailed recommendations from 9 March, here's the list:
2017 ICANN60 (19th AGM) 28 Oct - 3 Nov 2017 Abu Dhabi AP ICANN59 | Policy Forum 26-29 Jun 2017 Johannesburg AF ICANN58 11-16 Mar 2017 Copenhagen EUR 2016 ICANN57 (18th AGM) 29 Oct - 4 Nov 2016 San Juan NA ICANN56 | Policy Forum 27-30 Jun 2016 Helsinki EUR
I am really surprised that with LAC having lost the Panama meeting to Europe, ICANN58 was not going to be swapped back to LAC. This means that there will not be a meeting in LAC until 2018 at the earliest. Kindest regards,
Olivier

You will be able to see the list of venues for ICANN meetings up till 2018 from the resolutions on March 9.
The main resolutions on March 10 focus on the IANA Stewardship Transition proposals.
Best regards,
Rinalia
