If those we have selected as Next Gen are disappearing afterwards, that would suggest that either our selection criteria need to be reexamined or we have a serious need to provide some form of transition to regular participation. Whether there is the same need with Fellows depends on what the goals of the fellowship program are. That is, are we looking to increase awareness across the outside world?
